Programs
From the youngest infant to the oldest school-ager, we strive to offer children a variety of opportunities for them to explore and learn about their world. Our activities allow for their social, physical and academic growth. We create our curriculum to also address the individual needs of each child. This means that whether your child is a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner, our activities will engage and inspire, allowing them to learn, grow and have fun! Our hands-on, project approach keeps the children busy and active, giving them time to explore and discover through authentic interactions with their teachers and their environment.
All of our programs allow parents the “peace of mind” to go about their work day knowing that their children are receiving quality care and positive learning experiences from compassionate, experienced educators in an environment that was created just for them
Toddler Exploration Program
Our Toddler Exploration Program allows these younger children to begin exploring social interactions which will become an important component of their overall development. Activities in this class will include manipulatives & block play, story times, music & movement activities, art, and dramatic play. While there is not necessarily the level of subtle academic focus that is found in the Preschool/PreK class, toddler class activities still allow for positive growth and development in language, cognitive and social skills, as well as enhancing fine gross motor skills.
Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Program
Our Preschool/PreK Program includes story times, math & science explorations, music & movement activities, circle time, manipulatives & block play, art & cooking projects, dramatic play opportunities, and multicultural activities addressing holidays around the world! These activities allow for positive development in language, cognitive and social skills, as well as enhancing fine & gross motor skills. The subtle and underlying academic components found in these activities also help to ensure future success in kindergarten and beyond.
Limited School-Age Program
Our Limited School-Age Program allows parents the convenience of an early morning drop-off of their school-age child where they can eat a breakfast they might have brought with them and/or engage in free choice activities within the classroom. At the scheduled public school bus time, a VCCC staff member then walks these children up the driveway to Brookline Street where the children are then put on the public school bus. At the end of the public school day, a VCCC staff member meets the public school bus, again in front of the Church on Brookline Street, and brings the school-age children back down to the Center where they join the Preschool/PreK class for snack and late afternoon free choice activities and playground time.
Summer Program
Our Summer Program includes all the above programs over the summer months, Monday – Friday, June through August. At VCCC we recognize that reliable, educational childcare is just as important through the summer months as it is throughout the year. We are here for you!
